The Mortgage Talent Network is a recruiting partner supporting a well-established mortgage lending client in hiring a Mortgage Loan Originator for their Scottsdale office. This is a great opportunity for a confident producer who enjoys building referral relationships and guiding borrowers through a smooth, compliant lending process.
You’ll be responsible for originating residential mortgage loans by developing referral sources, generating your own pipeline, and working closely with processing/support teams to move files efficiently from application through closing.
Generate and grow new loan business through realtor, builder, and community referral partnerships
Develop a consistent pipeline through outbound business development and internal referrals
Consult with borrowers to identify financing needs and recommend appropriate loan options
Complete loan applications and collect initial documentation
Coordinate with centralized processing/support teams to move loans through underwriting and closing
Maintain proactive communication with borrowers and referral partners to drive a strong customer experience
Request and follow up on outstanding documentation as needed to keep files on track
Adhere to all required mortgage compliance standards and internal procedures
Meet quality and production expectations aligned to the client’s goals
Commission-based role with a draw (details provided during the hiring process)

This is a hybrid-based role in Scottsdale, AZ. The position involves frequent computer and phone use and may include extended periods of sitting/standing and occasional light lifting.
2 + years of residential mortgage loan origination experience (required)
Strong understanding of the mortgage process, documentation, and timelines
Ability to manage multiple active files and deadlines with accuracy
Excellent communication skills (phone, email, written) and a consultative approach
High accountability, follow-through, and comfort working independently
Ability to remain calm and solution-focused in time-sensitive situations
Flexibility to meet client and referral partner needs (hours may vary)
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Established referral relationships in the market (a plus)
