Based in Seoul, South Korea and founded in 2018, our client is a fintech company that provides IT solutions for financial institutions and professional investors based on quantitative technology that analyzes financial markets and develops investment and risk models based on mathematics and statistics.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with the company's AML Policy and Lithuanian regulatory requirements;
- Identify, assess and monitor money laundering, terrorist financing and other applicable financial crimes risks ensuring that the program is comprehensive and proportionate to the nature, scale and complexity of the company's businesses operating;
- Communicate and escalate financial crimes-related issues to the Compliance Officer of the parent company;
- Maintain an understanding of current and proposed financial crimes laws, regulations, and regulatory guidance in Lithuania;
- Maintain an awareness of emerging financial crimes trends/risk across the company and region and develop strategies to apply lessons learned that proactively address this risk;
- Receive, review, monitor, and submit Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) to the Financial Crime Investigation Service and liaise with regulatory bodies as applicable;
- Prepare planning and reporting documents regarding the Lithuanian AML/CFT Program for senior management;
- Identify and assess training needs, and establish, develop, deliver, and maintain the local AML training program as appropriate;
- Participate in checking of completeness of sanctions watchlists;
- Monitor regulatory change, ensure active identification, response and/or escalation of money laundering, terrorist financing and other applicable financial crimes-related topics, as appropriate;
- Participate in internal audits, as well as regulatory exams;
- Coordinate responses to inquiries from enforcement authorities and regulators;
- Conduct financial crimes-related risk assessments, provide credible challenge to business and support teams as appropriate;
- Prepare and submit information requested regulators periodically or ad-hoc base.
Requirements
- 3+ years of Financial Crimes, Operational Risk, Fraud, Sanctions, Anti-Bribery, Corruption experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education;
- 5+ years of AML/CFT related experience in a virtual asset service provider, a financial institution or combined with experience in a related government/regulatory body;
- BS/BA degree or higher;
- Knowledge and strong understanding of Lithuanian AML/CFT regime and international/industry practices, to include European Union Directives on Money Laundering, OFAC, and global sanctions;
- Experience in managing an AML/CFT program;
- Ability to develop and manage business relationships with various stakeholders, including front office and audit;
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills;
- Experience in managing the preparation of policy and procedure documents, investigative reports, and Suspicious Transaction Reports;
- Excellent analytical skills, lateral thinking and problem-solving ability with high attention to detail and accuracy;
- Ability to independently prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment;
- Experience in making and owning risk-based decisions;
- Experience with development of AML programs or testing/audit of such programs (advantage);
- Knowledge of transaction monitoring systems utilized in AML/Financial Crimes investigative programs (advantage);
- Experience in non-face-to-face KYC by a KYC-specialized third-party system (advantage);
- Certified Anti Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) or other similar designation (advantage).
