This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a MLRO / Deputy MLRO in Norway. In this role, you will lead the implementation and oversight of the organization’s Anti-Financial Crime (AFC) and AML/CTF compliance programs, ensuring regulatory adherence across global operations. You will act as a key strategic partner to senior leadership, advising on risk management, regulatory developments, and operational controls. The role involves direct oversight of compliance monitoring, transaction review, and reporting, while fostering collaboration across remote teams. You will drive continuous improvement in compliance processes, build relationships with regulators and industry stakeholders, and ensure the business operates with integrity and transparency.   • Serve as the official MLRO or Deputy MLRO for regulated entities, subject to regulatory approval.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute the Anti-Financial Crime (AFC) Framework, including AML/CTF policies and procedures.
  • Oversee compliance monitoring programs with daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reviews.
  • Lead risk-based Know Your Customer (KYC) and transaction monitoring programs, investigating and reporting suspicious activity in accordance with regulations.
  • Draft and deliver compliance reports, including Annual and Monthly reports, and prepare materials for audits, regulatory inquiries, and examinations.
  • Collaborate with business units to remediate identified compliance issues and implement operational improvements.
  • Maintain ongoing relationships with regulators, payment schemes, card networks, and other relevant authorities.
  • Provide guidance, training, and educational programs to enhance organizational understanding of AFC regulations.
  • Conduct regulatory landscape monitoring and ensure timely updates to the compliance program.
  • Support strategic planning, KPI tracking, and continuous enhancement of compliance processes.
  • Requirements:
  • 8+ years of experience in banking, VASPs, complex financial services, or related e-money/payments industries at MLRO or Deputy MLRO level.
  • Strong operational knowledge in building and managing robust AFC and AML/CTF compliance programs.
  • Familiarity with Gibraltar regulatory requirements and international AFC standards.
  • 5+ years of people management experience is desirable.
  • Experience implementing, configuring, and managing AFC systems.
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools is an advantage.
  • Experience in cryptocurrency compliance and AFC program management is beneficial.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships across distributed, remote teams.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to advise and train staff at all levels.
