Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Migratory Commercial Beekeeper to manage beehives across multiple locations as part of our pollination services. This role involves extensive travel to different regions, ensuring hives are transported, maintained, and optimized for pollination. The ideal candidate will have experience in large-scale, migratory beekeeping and be comfortable working outdoors in physically demanding conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transport and manage hives across various locations for seasonal pollination, including crops such as almonds and other high-value agriculture.

  • Conduct regular hive inspections, assess colony health, and implement pest and disease control measures.

  • Load and unload beehives, ensuring safe and efficient transport between sites.

  • Work closely with Beewise teams and partner beekeepers to optimize hive placement and performance.

  • Keep detailed records of hive movements, health status, and productivity.

  • Follow all biosecurity, safety, and regulatory guidelines related to commercial beekeeping.

Qualifications

  • Required: Experience in commercial, migratory beekeeping, particularly in large-scale pollination services.

  • Strong knowledge of honeybee behavior, hive management, and pest/disease control.

  • Ability to work long hours outdoors, perform physically demanding tasks, and handle beekeeping equipment.

  • Willingness to travel extensively and work in different climates and conditions.

  • Valid driver’s license and experience with trucks/trailers for hive transportation preferred.
