Why this role exists:

This role exists to make data reliable, accessible, and scalable across the company — so teams can move faster with confidence. You’ll build and support pipelines and data models that power reporting, product insights, and operational decision-making across massive datasets.

What you’ll work on:

You’ll join the Data Platform team and work with 100+ TB of data with at least hourly updates. You’ll build ETL/ELT pipelines, warehouses/marts, data catalog, quality automation, and APIs for internal/external data use.

What you’ll drive:

Pipelines & scale

  • Develop and support ETL/ELT across multiple sources.
  • Monitor pipelines, resolve incidents, and optimize performance.

Warehousing & cloud

  • Build/maintain warehouses and marts on AWS (S3/Athena/Redshift), GCP (Storage/BigQuery), and PostgreSQL.
  • Tune queries/jobs (partitioning, indexing, performance optimization).

Streaming & external sources

Collect/process data from Kafka, GA, Firebase, Appsflyer, Cloudflare, and other third-party services.

Data quality & governance

  • Build and maintain a centralized data catalog with validated, documented models.
  • Automate data quality tests and integrity checks.
  • Develop/extend semantic layers so teams speak the same “data language”.

APIs & collaboration

  • Build REST APIs (Aiohttp/Flask/FastAPI) for data consumption.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable data solutions; document what you build.

What makes you a GR8 fit:

Must-have

  • 2+ years in Python/Data Engineering.
  • Strong ETL + data warehousing + relational DB skills (PostgreSQL/MSSQL etc.).
  • Experience with scheduling/task queues.
  • Familiarity with AWS or GCP (S3/Athena/Redshift or Storage/BigQuery).
  • Linux + Docker; git + CI/CD.
  • Testing mindset (BDD/TDD/unit tests) and solid design patterns.
  • Strong fundamentals in CS + database theory.
  • Intermediate English or higher.

Nice-to-have

  • Kubernetes, Airflow, dbt.
  • NoSQL (Mongo/Elastic/Redis), Kafka ecosystem.
  • IaC tools (Terraform/Ansible).
  • Near real-time processing and/or BI tooling (Tableau/PowerBI/Metabase/Grafana/Superset etc.).
  • Experience with Salesforce platforms or graph DBs (Neo4j/AgensGraph).
