The Accountant is responsible for providing comprehensive day-to-day accounting support for multiple operating entities and/or a centralized support center. This role ensures the accurate and timely recording of financial transactions, daily and monthly reconciliations, and adherence to organizational accounting policies and internal controls. The Accountant partners closely with operational leadership, Finance leadership, and centralized Accounting and Finance teams to deliver reliable financial information, assist with month-end close, support budgeting and forecasting cycles, and contribute to quarterly and annual reporting.

- Manage day-to-day accounting operations for three to five operating entities or a support center, ensuring accurate, timely, and complete financial information across all assigned entities.
- Work closely with Finance leadership, operational leadership, and the centralized accounting team to ensure journal entries, adjustments, and all financial transactions are properly recorded in compliance with organizational timelines and standards.
- Prepare and review weekly cash reconciliations, including customer receipts, service fees, refunds, and other operating cash activity, promptly researching and resolving discrepancies.
- Perform monthly reconciliations for assigned balance sheet and income statement accounts and ensure reconciling items are supported, addressed, and cleared in a timely manner.
- Ensure adherence to company accounting policies, U.S. GAAP, and internal controls, proactively raising any exceptions or concerns.
- Collaborate closely with operational teams and finance leadership to provide clear explanations of financial results and maintain open, accurate communication.
- Provide exceptional internal customer service by supporting operational staff with financial questions, system navigation, and process guidance.
- Identify, research, and resolve accounting issues, documenting root causes and recommending process or control enhancements to prevent recurrence.
- Assist with month-end close activities, including preparation of journal entries, supporting schedules, variance explanations, and entity-level reporting.
- Support quarterly and annual reporting requirements, including consolidation schedules, supplemental reporting, external audit requests, and regulatory filings as needed.
- Assist with the annual budget and ongoing forecast cycles, providing entity-level data, trend analysis, and insight into operational drivers.
- Partner with the Controller and Finance leadership on special projects, process improvement initiatives, system enhancements, and entity-specific financial needs.
- Maintain organized, audit-ready documentation, including reconciliations, support schedules, and backup for all assigned entities.
- Comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations, and follow all company policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate knowledge of and alignment with the organization’s service culture, values, and commitment to quality, respect, collaboration, and accountability.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance at work and meetings.
Requirements
The role requires the ability to perform effectively under pressure, adapt to changing priorities, and transition between tasks without loss of efficiency or composure. Must be able to resolve problems, maintain productive working relationships, and respond to frequent interruptions and requests while maintaining professionalism.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or an associate’s degree with five years of demonstrated accounting experience.
- 3 to 5 years of accounting experience.
- U.S. GAAP background
- Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Microsoft Dynamics AX background
- ERP systems experience (SAP preferred).
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in person and over the phone.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- High attention to detail with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Strong computer skills with the ability to navigate multiple systems; proficient with spreadsheets, accounting software, and standard office hardware.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively as part of a team.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English sufficient to perform job duties and interact with colleagues, vendors, and stakeholders.
