Mid-market Sales Manager (West)

AI overview

Seek a strategic leader for a high-impact role managing sales teams, driving growth, and forging relationships in the Mid-Market healthcare sector.

About Paytient:
We’re on a mission to help people better access and afford care.

Every day, millions of people, and their loved ones, need to see a doctor. For most of us, that moment is an uncertain one - we’re unsure of what’s wrong, who to go to, how long it’ll take to be seen, when we’ll feel better, and what it’ll cost.

Paytient partners with thoughtful employers and health plans who understand the impact of that moment and want to ensure that every one of their plan members are easily able to access and afford care. Our clients understand that an improved ability to self-pay for care changes patient behavior and creates value for the health plan.  This founding belief is becoming an emerging standard of care in health plan design and is now, in fact, a mandatory capability in some governmental health plans. Founded in 2018, Paytient is now part of nearly 6,000 employer health plans and providing certainty that people are better able to access and afford care.

We’re looking for passionate, collaborative builders to join our team and help us create a future where everyone can more easily access and afford care.

About The Role:

Paytient is seeking a Mid-Market Sales Manager to drive revenue growth across the entire United States. This is a high-impact "Player-Coach" role: you will lead a team of four (4) Sales Account Executives across the Mid-Market segment while maintaining a personal sales target for Mid-Market new account growth in an assigned territory.

You and your team are responsible for the full sales motion—proactively generating leads, responding to inbound requests, presenting the Paytient value proposition, and negotiating/closing deals. You will act as a bridge between high-velocity market segments and our Enterprise efforts, ensuring every employer from 250 to 4,999 lives receives an expert, emotive sales experience.

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage and mentor a team of Sales Account Executives. You will guide them through the full sales cycle—from lead generation and responding to inbounds to final negotiation—for the Mid-Market (1,000–4,999 lives) segment. Team will be based in various states across the country - remote leading.
  • Own a personal revenue target by managing your own Mid-Market portfolio (employers sized 1,000–4,999 lives) within an assigned territory.
  • Lead by example in prospecting, presenting, and closing. You will show up for every call with a baseline understanding of the employer’s business and the ability to create an emotive connection through to closed/won.
  • Partner closely with VP, Growth to develop a business plan that ensures both you and your direct reports hit revenue goals consistently. You will oversee team’s CRM (HubSpot) hygiene and be obsessed with managing pipeline-to-goal.
  • Build trusted, long-term relationships with brokers who serve the Mid-Market. Coordinate and host market events to drive education and ensure Paytient is the top of mind and standard of care for their clients.
  • Partner with Growth Marketing and Revenue Operations to optimize lead flow and sales tools.
  • Conduct and attend weekly 1:1s with team members and VP, Growth to review team performance and personal pipeline, making clear, direct asks for support to remove roadblocks.

What You’ll Bring:

  • 7–10 years of work experience in Sales, Business Development, or Partnerships, with a proven track record of closing Mid-Market deals within the healthcare sector.
  • Previous leadership or "Lead" experience with a desire to coach a team of AEs in a high-growth environment.
  • Expertise in full-cycle sales: you are as comfortable generating a lead as you are negotiating a final contract.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to build influential relationships internally and with customers.
  • High motivation and resilience; you thrive in an environment where you are both a strategist and a practitioner.
  • Expertise in Google Suite and HubSpot CRM.
