Your Mission:

 

Join us in disrupting post-trade processing in the Over-the-Counter (OTC) energy trading market.

We are looking for a platform engineer looking to get hands on developing solutions and abstractions to make it easier for all those in engineering to build, deploy, operate, and observe the services that power Fidectus. You will be working closely with your peers to make a real impact in shaping our engineering culture and our platform where you will assume responsibility and grow within our quickly developing startup.

 

Your Responsibilities / What you’ll do:

  • Design, implementation, and management of cloud-based systems and infrastructure. 
  • Collaborate with software engineers and product teams to evaluate and identify optimal solutions for future features and architecture by using state of the art cloud products.
  • Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines and automations
  • Modify and improve existing architecture with and R&D mindset.
  • Support other engineers who use our platform products, providing guidance and encouraging adoption of best practices
  • Encourage adoption of “You Build it, You Run It” mentality within engineering by developing/maintaining platform products that reduce the burden of ownership/maintenance of services
  • Work with your peers in the Platform team to accelerate the adoption of our internal platform
  • Identify, analyse, and resolve infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues.
  • Regularly review existing systems and make recommendations for improvements and enhancements.

 

Required Experience and knowledge:

  • Degree in computer science or a similar field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working with AWS in a multi-account setup
  • Able to code in at least one programming language, ideally Typescript or Python
  • Strong familiarity with core IaaS concepts such as compute, storage, networking, identity management, etc.
  • Strong familiarity with container based systems (e.g ECS, EKS, ECS Fargate, Kubernetes)
  • Experience working with relational/NoSQL databases (e.g. Postgres, MySQL, DynamoDB)
  • Experience with CI/CD systems (e.g. Gitlab).
  • Experience with DevOps/SRE principals and processes
  • Experience with Observability solutions (e.g. Cloudwatch, Sentry.io, etc.)
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code. (terraform, CDK, cloud formation)
  • Experience working end-to-end (from ideation to deployment) to deliver production-ready solutions
  • AWS certifications are a plus
  • Interest and passion to learn and experiment with new technologies
  • Strong desire to automate routine processes
  • A "you build it, you run it"-mentality
  • The ability to work autonomously and in a result-oriented way
  • Strong written and spoken English skills
