Job Role: Mid-Level Developer (Base44 Platform)

Compensation range: $1500 - $1800 AUD / Monthly

Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement

Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 8 AM - 4 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time.

Who We Are: At Hunt St, we help Australian companies hire top remote talent in the Philippines. For this role, you will be engaged directly by the client as an independent contractor. We are not an outsourcing agency. All of our roles are 100% remote, so you'll be able to work from home.

Who The Client Is: The client is a full-service creative agency that helps businesses elevate their brand and grow online through integrated digital solutions. They offer a broad range of services, including web design and development, video production, brand identity, graphic design, social media content, paid advertising, and other digital marketing services. Their approach combines strategic thinking with creative execution to ensure that all elements from websites to marketing videos to social campaigns work together seamlessly to support business growth. 

Operating as a small but highly skilled team of designers, developers, videographers, and marketing specialists, the client focuses on delivering tailored solutions for organisations of all sizes across Australia. They emphasise strong creative design, practical marketing strategies, and personalised client support to help businesses stand out, boost brand awareness, and drive measurable engagement and results.

Role Overview: ​​The role centres on developing and maintaining reliable, secure, and scalable web applications using Base44, while collaborating closely with internal team members. Clear English communication is essential, as you will regularly discuss requirements and technical decisions via email and video calls.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Build and enhance applications using Base44 as the core platform
• Develop and maintain integrations and APIs with external systems
• Configure permissions, roles, and access controls
• Use GitHub for version control and collaboration
• Apply practical security, auditing, and monitoring best practices
• Review PRDs and translate requirements into functional solutions
• Communicate progress, challenges, and recommendations clearly
• Support custom-coded functionality in Wix Studio when needed
• Use AI-enabled development tools to deliver efficient, outcome-focused solutions

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a software developer in a production environment
• Strong working knowledge of JavaScript and/or TypeScript
• Experience working with APIs, webhooks, and authentication methods
• Familiar with Git/GitHub workflows
• Understanding of access control and secure data handling
• Able to balance speed with stability and quality
• Comfortable working independently with accountability
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Able to explain technical topics to non-technical stakeholders
• Understand that modern AI and vibe-coding platforms are powerful tools in the hands of an experienced developer. We expect you to use Base44 to move fast, eliminate unnecessary manual coding, and focus on outcomes. Hand-written code is used intentionally by you only when it adds clarity, control, security, or performance - not by default.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Base44 or similar platforms (e.g., Lovable, Bolt, Replit)
• Experience custom-coding in Wix Studio
• Exposure to compliance or security-focused environments

Work Arrangement & Expectations:

This is a remote role that will be set up as an independent contractor engagement.
