We are seeking an experienced  new member of our Microglia Therapeutics team who will bring well-rounded experience working in Alzheimer’s disease research to help us bring our cell therapy to the clinic! In this role you will:
  • Design and execute experiments to support our research goals.
  • Perform regular culture and differentiation of iPSCs to multiple CNS cell types using aseptic tissue culture techniques.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize 2D and 3D (organoids) differentiation protocols.  
  • Develop cell-based and molecular assays to characterize the cells and prove function.
  • Collaborate seamlessly within the Microglia Team and across Retro teams such as In-Vivo, Computational Biology, Automation, Process Development, etc.
  • Help the team solve technical challenges and suggest mitigation strategies.
  • Actively participate in brainstorming sessions to develop adaptive strategies for overcoming obstacles.
  • Analyze, interpret and present experimental data to our internal teams and collaborators.
  • Maintain an organized electronic lab notebook and contribute to supporting documents.
  • Participate in regular lab organization activities and ordering.
  • You might thrive in this role if you:
  • Have a Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Biology or related field and at least 3 years of relevant post-degree experience in academia or industry.
  • 3+ years of experience working on Alzheimer’s Disease research.
  • Are familiar with neurodegenerative diseases and ways to accurately model different aspects of neuropathology. 
  • Experience with iPSC tissue culture, cell-based assays and in vivo models of neurobiology.
  • It's a bonus if you:
  • Have experience with differentiation of iPSCs to brain cell-types.
