Tecovas is looking for a Merchandising Intern to be ingrained in our Concept-to-Customer (C2C) process, with a specific focus on Men's Apparel. Reporting directly to the Sr Merchandising Manager, Men’s, you will support the team through major product milestones, from hindsighting and trend research to prototype reviews and line freezes. As the Merchandising Intern, you will be in the trenches with the merchandising team, gaining transferable career skills, and a deep understanding of how a product line comes to life. 

This position is based out of Austin, TX with regular in office attendance expected. Must be available for the full duration of the internship (12 weeks).

Please note that this internship opportunity is available only to current and active Tecovas employees. If you are not a Tecovas employee, you will not be considered for this position.

What you’ll do:

  • Conduct trend and competitive research to inform future season strategies.
  • Perform hindsight analysis, digging into historical sales performance to guide product decisions.
  • Support the creation of product briefs, especially by providing competitive landscape research.
  • Assist in preparing for major go-to-market milestones, including line freezes, internal prototype reviews, and design reviews.
  • Help prep for working sessions with cross-functional teams to decide on materials, colors, and silhouettes that bring our designs to life.
  • Gain a working knowledge of the full merchandising and go-to-market process

Experience we’re looking for:

  • Currently pursuing a degree, with a preference for a fashion or merchandising background
  • Proven ability to research, analyze, and synthesize data to create a clear and compelling story.
  • Excellent communication skills, both in writing and in-person presentations

Requirements

  • Must be located in the Austin, TX area 
  • Must be available to work up to 32 hours per week, Monday - Friday (between the hours of 8AM-5PM CST)
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Able to lift up to 30 pounds regularly 
  • Internship program culminates with a presentation to our leadership team  summarizing your experience at Tecovas with key takeaways and feedback regarding the program.
