Merchandise Planning Associate

TLDR

Support the planning team in analyzing business performance and executing financial and inventory strategies while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

The Merchandise Planning Associate supports the planning team in analyzing business performance and executing financial and inventory strategies. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who is eager to learn retail planning, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration. 

You will work closely with Merchandising, Production, and Inventory & Allocation teams to support in-season business analysis and contribute to future planning efforts. 

What you’ll get to do:  

  • Support merchandise planners and merchants in building and maintaining sales, inventory, and markdown plans  
  • Assist with pre-season and seasonal planning processes by gathering data, updating reports, and contributing insights  
  • Help develop weekly sales, markdown, and receipt plans using historical data and current trends  
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist in tracking receipts to support optimal inventory flow  
  • Analyze business performance and identify trends, risks, and opportunities  
  • Prepare reports and help build financial presentations for team meetings  
  • Conduct basic hindsight analysis to support future planning decisions  
  • Collaborate cross-functionally and provide day-to-day support to planning and merchandising teams  
  • Learn and apply retail planning tools, systems, and processes  

Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, supply chain, or equivalent years of experience preferred 
  • 1+ years of experience in retail, planning, finance, analytics, or a related field (internships included)  
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail  
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., basic formulas, data organization; advanced skills a plus)  
  • Eagerness to learn, take initiative, and grow within a fast-paced environment  
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines  
  • Good communication skills with the ability to present ideas clearly  
  • Collaborative mindset and willingness to work cross-functionally

The salary range for this role is $63,700 per year - $78,645 per year.
