The Remote MEPF Building Services Engineer will assist in the acquisition, design, and coordination of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems for UK building projects. Duties and Responsibilities

Design & Planning

  • Prepare MEPF designs, drawings, and calculations using AutoCAD.
  • Develop technical specifications and reports in line with UK Building Regulations and CIBSE standards.
  • Support sustainable and energy-efficient designs in line with Part L, BREEAM, SAP, and EPC requirements.
  • Assist with the future adoption of Revit MEP for BIM modelling and coordination.

    Utilities & Coordination
  • Liaise with UK utilities providers (power, water, gas, and telecoms) to manage applications, technical submissions, and compliance requirements. This includes securing approvals for new service connections, upgrading existing capacities where needed, and obtaining necessary consents such as build over agreements for drainage and sewer infrastructure. Coordinate timelines with providers to ensure installations align with project schedules.
  • Coordinate with utilities during acquisition and feasibility stages to obtain service records and identify new connection needs.
  • Collaborate closely with both UK and Philippine team members for smooth workflows.
  • Participate in online project meetings and share project documents through Google Workspace.

    Compliance & Project Support
  • Ensure MEPF designs comply with UK Building Regulations, BS/EN codes, and fire safety standards.
  • Review contractor submittals, shop drawings, and technical documentation for accuracy.
  • Support preparation of testing and commissioning documentation for residential services such as drainage water tests, air flow/ventilation tests, water pressure checks, electrical safety testing, and fire alarm/smoke detector commissioning.
  • Maintain accurate project records, version control, and document submissions.

Requirements

Job Requirements

  • Either of the following Degree - Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services, or related discipline.
  • Experience in MEPF design for residential or commercial building projects.
  • Knowledge of UK Building Regulations, CIBSE Guides, SAP, EPC, and BS/EN codes (or equivalent standards from similar regulated countries) is a plus
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Google Workspace.
  • Strong English communication skills for collaboration with UK and PH teams.
  • Ability to work independently and deliver on deadlines remotely.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Revit MEP (for future use as part of BIM adoption).
  • Previous experience with UK-based consultancy, contractor, or design teams (or similar regulated environments) is an advantage but not essential
  • Understanding of BIM Level 2 processes and BREEAM requirements.
  • Familiarity with residential testing and commissioning procedures.
