POSITION DETAILS

 Winrock is recruiting a MEL Specialist for the Millennium Challenge Account (MCA) Reforestation project in Nepal.

 This position is contingent upon award.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSBILITIES 

  •  Develop and implement a comprehensive MEL framework tailored to compensation reforestation activities.
  • Design and manage databases for tracking project indicators, outputs, and outcomes.
  • Lead digital data collection efforts using appropriate tools and platforms.
  • Analyze data and produce visualizations to support adaptive management and stakeholder reporting.
  • Ensure MEL activities align with project goals, donor requirements, and national environmental standards.
  • Provide capacity building and technical support to implementing partners and field teams.
  • Contribute to periodic evaluations, learning reviews, and knowledge dissemination.

QUALIFICATIONS AND BACKGROUND:

 Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environment, Natural Resource Management, Statistics, Economics, or a related discipline. Master’s Degree is an advantage.

 Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project monitoring and evaluation, including projects focused on reforestation, forestry, environment, or natural resource management.
  • Proven experience in developing and managing MEL frameworks for reforestation or similar environmental projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and manage databases and reporting systems in at least two projects.
  • Proficiency in digital data collection tools (e.g., KoboToolbox, SurveyCTO) and analysis software (e.g., Excel, SPSS, R, or Power BI).
  • Strong skills in data visualization and adaptive learning approaches.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience providing quality assurance on data collected by partners
