About the Job

We’re hiring a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to support pre-launch medical affairs activities for our proprietary cryopreserved hematopoietic progenitor cell (HPC) bone marrow graft product that will be available through an on-demand donor bank.  This role will play a critical part in shaping scientific understanding, building transplant-center readiness, and establishing Ossium’s medical presence ahead of commercial availability.

This is a hands-on, field-based role, focused on deep scientific engagement with priority allogeneic BMT centers, investigator education, and support of evidence-generation efforts. You will serve as a scientific expert on Ossium’s HPC, Bone Marrow platform, supporting pre-launch medical strategy through high-quality scientific exchange, clinical insight gathering, and collaboration with internal teams. This role reports to the Chief Commercial Officer.

Required Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (MD, DO, PhD, PharmD, or equivalent)
  • Minimum 3-5 years relevant experience as an MSL or in a scientific field facing role within biotech or pharma
  • Strong background in bone marrow transplantation, hematologic malignancies, cell therapy, or immunology
  • Ability to operate with a high level of organization and time management in a dynamic startup environment.
  • Willingness to travel up to ~80% 
  • This role is a field based position based in the Eastern United States and requires regular travel to transplant centers across the region; candidates must reside within 50 miles of a major airport to facilitate this travel

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct experience in allogeneic BMT, HPC grafts, or cell-therapy launches
  • Experience supporting pre-commercial or first-launch programs
  • Familiarity with transplant center workflows, registries, and guideline development
  • Existing relationships within the BMT community

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary medical liaison for designated transplant centers within an assigned territory
  • Conduct non-promotional scientific exchanges regarding cryopreserved bone marrow
  • Educate investigators and transplant teams on Ossium’s banking, matching, and logistics model to support early awareness and readiness
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key transplant physicians, program directors, and cell-therapy stakeholders
  • Identify and cultivate future investigators,  advisory board participants and speakers for Ossium programs
  • Collect structured medical insights to inform clinical strategy, launch planning, and evidence needs
  • Support ongoing and planned clinical studies as needed per clinical team, expanded access programs, and registry efforts related to HPC, Bone Marrow
  • Facilitate investigator-initiated research (IIR) discussions in alignment with medical strategy
  • Assist with site education related to protocol understanding and study conduct
  • Support major hematology and transplant congresses (e.g., ASH, TANDEM, local chapters) and engage with advocacy groups
  • Contribute to the development and review of medical materials and scientific content; support internal training
  • Partner closely with Clinical Development, Regulatory, Manufacturing, and Commercial teams to ensure medical alignment

In your first six months, some projects you’ll work on include:

  • Becoming a subject-matter expert in Ossium’s HPC, Bone Marrow (cryopreserved) platform
  • Establishing scientific relationships with priority transplant centers and KOLs
  • Supporting pre-launch congress activity and medical engagement planning
  • Contributing medical insights to refine positioning, evidence gaps, and launch readiness
