Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The Medical Biller will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely submission of medical claims to insurance companies and other payers.

Responsibilities

· Accurately and promptly submit medical claims to insurance companies and other payers.

· Verify patient insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for medical procedures.

· Review and analyze medical records to ensure proper coding of diagnoses and procedures.

· Resolve billing issues with insurance companies and other payers.

· Follow up on unpaid claims and resubmit claims as necessary.

· Collaborate closely with other departments, such as medical coding and billing, to ensure accurate and timely billing processes.

· Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient and billing records in compliance with regulatory requirements.

· Provide excellent customer service to patients and other stakeholders.

· Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations and ensure compliance with these changes.

Requirements

· High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree in medical billing or a related field is preferred.

· Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in medical billing and 4- 7 years of experience in medical coding.

· Strong knowledge of medical billing codes and regulations, including ICD-10 and CPT codes.

· Familiarity with medical billing software and systems, such as Epic and Meditech.

· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

· High attention to detail and ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.

· Understanding of insurance and reimbursement procedures.
