About the Role

The Medical Assistant is an integral part of our care team, owning patient relationships and quarter backing a collaborative care plan that drives meaningful impact in our patients’ lives. We’re looking for a teammate who is an innate people person, loves helping others, and has a knack for tenacious problem solving.

This is an in office role, supporting our clinic in Starbase, TX. Our clinic is open Monday through Friday from 8am-4pm CST. 

Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Room patients efficiently, obtaining and documenting vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respirations, weight, height) in the EHR
  • Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection for laboratory testing following proper phlebotomy protocols
  • Administer immunizations and injections per physician orders while maintaining accurate vaccine records
  • Assist providers with minor procedures and examinations as needed
  • Collect and process specimens for laboratory analysis
  • Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care as directed by providers
  • Document patient interactions, clinical data, and care activities accurately in the electronic health record
  • Maintain examination room cleanliness, organization, and adequate supply levels
  • Manage inventory of clinical supplies and medications, placing orders as needed
  • Ensure proper sterilization and maintenance of medical equipment
  • Follow infection control protocols and maintain compliance with safety standards

We would love to hear from you if you have the following or equivalent experience:

  • At least 2 years clinical experience as LPN or CMA
  • Experience with phlebotomy and injections (vaccines) 
  • Reliable access to personal transportation
  • For the safety of our patients and staff, employees in this role must be fully vaccinated with all necessary vaccinations. This includes a booster for a completed COVID-19 vaccination
  • Strong people skills and the ability to connect with anyone
  • Creative problem-solving skills that can be leveraged to empower others and impeccable organizational skills that foster reliability and trustworthiness for colleagues and patients alike
  • Strong communication skills, especially the ability to translate complex ideas into simple language

Physical Requirements: Employee must be able to meet the following requirements with or without a reasonable accommodation: This is primarily a sedentary position.  Physical requirements may include lifting up to 10 pounds, manual dexterity, near/far visual acuity, keyboarding, the ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech, sitting, standing, walking, and screen usage 8 or more hours per day.
