Position Title: Mechanical Technician

Salary: SAR 2,500 – 3,500 + FAT

Job Summary

The Mechanical Technician will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of heavy mechanical equipment used in casting and forging operations. The role requires strong hands-on experience with furnaces, presses, hammers, and material-handling systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

Mechanical Maintenance & Repair

• Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance on induction and arc furnaces

• Maintain and repair ladles, molding machines, and shakeout machines

• Carry out maintenance of heat treatment furnaces and associated mechanical systems

• Service and troubleshoot forging presses, power hammers, and drop hammers

Forging & Heating Equipment

• Maintain billet heating furnaces and induction heaters

• Repair and align trimming presses and manipulators

• Maintain quenching systems including pumps, tanks, and piping

Overhaul & Alignment

• Perform mechanical overhauls of equipment during shutdowns

• Carry out alignment, fitting, and replacement of mechanical components

• Diagnose mechanical faults such as vibration, leakage, wear, and misalignment

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all mechanical safety procedures, permit systems, and HSE guidelines

• Use appropriate PPE and ensure safe working practices

• Maintain housekeeping and safe conditions in the maintenance area

Coordination & Reporting

• Coordinate with electrical, instrumentation, and production teams

• Report equipment condition, failures, and maintenance activities to supervisors

• Maintain maintenance records and logs

Requirements

Experience Requirement

• Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance within casting and forging plants

• Proven experience working on heavy industrial equipment and furnaces

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and industrial equipment

• Ability to read mechanical drawings and maintenance manuals

• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

• Strong safety awareness and work discipline

• Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team

Work Environment & Conditions

• Plant-based role in casting and forging facilities

• Exposure to heat, noise, dust, and heavy machinery

• Shift-based work with overtime applicable as per operational requirements
