Summary:

Fulfills a leadership role within the Product Development Engineering Organization, providing technical insight in the development of innovative products and leadership of the team that brings these insights to realization. He/she is responsible for recruiting, development and retention of talent within his/her organization. Coordinates all day to day activities within the Mechanical Engineering group. His/her focus is to work in conjunction Program Managers and/or Director of Engineering on the allocation of resources that will warrantee successful completion of projects and/or initiatives in a timely manner while conforming to ATDI standard processes and polices. The Mechanical Engineering Manager is the first step to escalation of issues from internal or external customers. His/her function is to coordinate among the different shareholders in order to provide resolution and preventing further escalation. As part of leadership of the Engineering Organization, The Mechanical Engineering Manager provides input to strategic decisions that affect his/her organization.    

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Creates a development program for new reports   
  • Participate of the quoting process  
  • Performs a range of engineering analysis required by the designs (tolerance, thermal, vibration, etc.)
  • In collaboration with the Director, sets standards for performance (technical and behavioral) within the group - Responsible for evaluation and performance reviews of direct reports.
  • Works in conjunction with Program Managers to assign resources to projects
  • Through a process of ongoing review and support - Ensures projects are delivered in timely fashion and in compliance with ATDI standard process.
  • Keeps metrics in the department in accordance with AS9100
  • Oversees the selection and implementation of software tools - Assesses the tools the department is using and the needs and maintains the tools ATDI currently has. 
  • Studies new initiatives within the department for feasibility and discuss them with management- Participates in the corporate strategic planning process from the standpoints of product and organizational development 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree
  • 5+ Years of experience in Engineering
  • Experience in thermal analysis of SMPS
  • Experience in design for manufacturing
  • Experience in different metal and plastic manufacturing methods and their application to real projects 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to define, scope, plan, schedule and direct highly complex software projects
  • Ability to work closely, engage and motivate team members and cross-functional teams.
  • Realistic outlook on work estimation and deadlines 

 

Salary Range: $120,000-$145,000
