Mechanical Engineering Internship - April/May - July 2026

The role

As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will be part of shaping a first-of-its-kind robot control system. Our software brings AI to robots and enables automation where it was previously not viable. As part of our young and dynamic team, you will collaborate with other product managers and developers to transform innovative ideas into production-ready solutions across a wide spectrum of industrial robot applications as well as bringing the first line of support to our customers. 

We are looking for a robotics enthusiast who can support us from April or May until July this year.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with interdisciplinary team, including, product management, software development, automation engineering, and other stakeholders, to drive product development and ensure seamless integration.
  • Collaborate with product managers and developers to plan, define and implement test scenarios.
  • Define, design, and implement a test robot set up including camera holder design, sensor connection and basic robot programming.
  • Identify inconsistencies or anomalies in test outcomes.
  • Create test reports and discuss outcomes with the development team.
  • Participate in regular team meetings, providing insights and updates on project progress and testing activities.
  • Offer first level support to customers

Minimum Requirements

  • Ongoing or finished in Mechatronics, Mechanical EngineeringElectronics or similar field
  • Basic command of CAD software such as Autodesk Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, or others.
  • Very good communication skills in English and German (B2 level).
  • Fundamental understanding of robotics.
  • Motivated to work on DIY projects involving robots.
  • Interested in AI-based technologies, robotics, and automation.
  • Customer service mindset and proactive communication

Nice-to-Haves

  • Basic knowledge of programming in Python.
  • Initial experience in creating a robot program such as UR, Fanuc, KUKA, or other would be advantageous.
  • Experience in technical support
  • Initial experience as an intern or working student in the robotics or automation field is an advantage.

    This is a paid internship with a monthly salary of 2.500 EUR gross.
