Contribute to the development of advanced manufacturing test fixtures ensuring hardware meets rigorous performance and reliability standards while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Apply foundational test-design, DFM/DFT, and manufacturing-practice principles to support the creation of reliable and scalable mechanical test fixtures.
Design, prototype, and iterate on mechanical fixtures—ranging from simple early validation tools to mass production fixtures—using SolidWorks and standard mechanical design methodologies.
Own CAD development and documentation packages including BOMs, drawings, wiring diagrams, and basic assembly instructions, ensuring accuracy through product and fixture changes.
Collaborate with contract manufacturers to ensure fixture readiness, verify sourcing, and support build and validation processes, including on-site support during product builds.
Support mechanical and electrical debugging activities, contributing to root-cause investigations and documenting clear, actionable findings.
Maintain and continuously improve documentation practices using Arena PLM, Confluence, and established change-control processes.
Contribute to cross-functional collaboration by clearly communicating technical decisions, sharing test results, and supporting process improvements across teams.
Research components for new test development (accelerometer, ECG, haptics, LED, etc.), run experiments, analyze data, and contribute to test-definition discussions.
BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
3+ years of experience in the design of complex mechanical products, preferably in automation or industrial equipment.
Strong mechanical design skills including proficiency CAD tools (SolidWorks highly preferred) and experience with mechanical debugging and validation techniques.
Strong project-management and communication skills, with the ability to prioritize and contribute effectively in fast-moving engineering environments.
Ability to create accurate engineering documentation (BOMs, drawings, assembly guides) and navigate PLM systems such as Arena.
Familiarity with basic electrical concepts and comfort supporting electrical debugging as it relates to fixture performance.
Understanding of core manufacturing concepts including DFM/DFT, fixture design principles, and general manufacturing test practices.
Experience using tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar to manage tasks, track progress, and document work.
Ability to analyze test data, contribute to SPC-based assessments, and communicate findings clearly in written and verbal form.
Basic experience with Python, firmware APIs, or software build tools is helpful but not required; willingness to learn lightweight scripting and debugging is important.
