Your New Role

As a Mechanical Designer at Goff Welding in Paul, ID, you’ll be at the forefront of designing and developing custom machines, structures, and weldments. This is an onsite role, and we prefer candidates within a 50-mile radius. Your day-to-day will include:

  • Designing mechanical and structural solutions from concept to production

  • Creating detailed specifications, 3D models, and prototypes using SolidWorks and AutoCAD

  • Developing and executing design validation and testing plans

  • Selecting materials and manufacturing processes for optimal performance

  • Providing technical support to manufacturing and quality control teams

  • Improving existing welding solutions based on customer feedback and industry advancements

  • Ensuring compliance with sanitary design principles for food and dairy processing equipment

  • Collaborating with food safety teams to meet 3-A Sanitary Standards, USDA, and FDA requirements

  • Designing washdown-capable machinery, sanitary piping, and food-safe weldments

  • Troubleshooting and improving equipment for dairy, milk, and potato processing applications

  • Managing projects from conception to installation, ensuring designs meet functional requirements and project deadlines

  • Assisting with fabrication and installation, providing necessary information and updates as needed
