Mechanical Design Intern (Robotics Hardware)

TLDR

Contribute to the WeldPro project by designing and assembling hardware for an AR-assisted robotic welding system while collaborating with robotics and machine learning engineers.

IKNOWHOW is leading the WeldPro project, an innovative R&D initiative aimed at developing an autonomous, AR-assisted robotic welding system. The project is officially co-funded by both the European Union and National Resources, specifically under the "Competitiveness" 2021-2027 Program (Πρόγραμμα «Ανταγωνιστικότητα») and the action "Research - Innovate" (Ερευνώ – Καινοτομώ) through ESPA.

 

Role & Responsibilities: The position will focus on analysing, sizing, designing and assembling the required hardware to facilitate automated welding using a UR10e Cobot:

 

- Assist in the 3D CAD design of mechanisms

- Help in creating concepts for the robotic welding 

- Collaborate closely with our robotics (Robot Operating Ssystem) and Machine Learning engineers

- Support the fabrication and assembly of prototype parts 

Requirements

- Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferably from NTUA or other polytechnic school)

- 3D CAD software (preferably SolidWorks).

- A strong interest in robotics, and mechanical design
