You will create precise 3D models and detailed drawings while collaborating across teams to ensure performance, cost, and reliability in mechanical designs.
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will transform concepts into robust mechanical designs by creating precise 3D models and detailed drawings that guide manufacturing and assembly. You will apply GD&T principles to ensure functional accuracy and tolerance compatibility, collaborating with engineers, suppliers, and manufacturing teams to deliver designs that balance performance, cost, and reliability.
Responsibilities
Develop 3D models and 2D drawings using CAD tools, ensuring accuracy and manufacturability.
Apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) to control critical dimensions and guarantee functional fit.
Translate engineering concepts and requirements into clear technical documentation.
Review designs for compliance with standards, tolerances, and best practices in mechanical engineering.
Collaborate with product engineers, analysts, and manufacturing teams to resolve design challenges.
Maintain CAD libraries, templates, and drawing standards to streamline workflows.
Support prototype builds and provide design updates based on test and validation results.
Prepare technical packages for suppliers and ensure alignment with production capabilities.
Collaborate with hardware, firmware, quality, and manufacturing teams to align technical decisions with product reliability and compliance.
Deliver clear reports and presentations summarizing risks, mitigation plans, and their impact on product design and lifecycle.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Related Field
Strong proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks, NX, CATIA, or similar).
Hands-on experience with GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes (machining, injection molding, casting, etc.).
Ability to create detailed technical drawings and documentation for suppliers.
Strong understanding of mechanical assemblies, fit, and function.
Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality standards.
Good communication skills and ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams.
Proactive, self-directed learner who drives issues to closure.
Advanced English level.
