Join a team to define and implement satellite and payload integration procedures, providing mechanical support during environmental and launch campaigns.

We are looking for multiple Mechanical AIT Engineers on behalf of and in support to OHB Italy for their location in ​Milan, Italy​. This position combines the role of the Mechanical Designer with the role of Mechanical AIT Operator for Satellite and/or Payload Integration within the AIT Unit.   

 

Please note, the successful candidate will be employed by ATG Europe (or one of its subsidiaries). Furthermore, upon selection, they will be subject to a general security screening performed by an external provider (further information will be provided at interview stage). 

 

The successful candidate will be tasked with, but not limited to: 

  • Be actively involved with the team in the definition of the Satellite and/or payload integration approach; 

  • Implement Satellite and/or Payload integration procedures; 

  • Collaborate with AIT Team on the Mechanical Integration of structure of Satellite and/or Payload SM, EM and PFM/FM model;  

  • Collaborate with the AIT Team on the Mechanical Integration of the EM and flight units; 

  • Collaborate with the AIT Team on the Mechanical Integration of flight harness; 

  • Install thermal and mechanical sensors: thermocouples, thermistors, heaters and accelerometers; 

  • Define and implement MAIT processes and related documents; 

  • Handle Satellite and/or Payload and related MGSE, including use of crane and cherry picker; 

  • Provide mechanical support during the Satellite and/or Payload Environmental Test Campaigns; 

  • Provide mechanical support during the Satellite Launch Campaigns.

Requirements

Please ensure that your CV clearly explains how you meet the mandatory requirements. If it doesn’t align completely with the essential criteria, it could result in rejection. 

  • Master’s degree or comparable in Aerospace Engineering or similar; 

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience; 

  • Proven experience with Assembly, Integration and Test activities definition, implementation and evaluation at satellite system or subsystem levels; 

  • Sound knowledge of satellite qualification and acceptance testing; 

  • Specific experience with complex satellite systems will be considered a strong asset; 

  • Excellent communication skills; 

  • Deep team spirit and teamwork experience; 

  • Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the EU; 

  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
