As part of the Electro-Acoustics Engineering team, the Measurement Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining measurement systems and processes that support loudspeaker and microphone development and production. This role ensures the highest standards of audio performance for our industry-leading products.
Job Duties:
- Develop test plans and design verification for functional and reliability testing of speaker components and complete systems (powered and passive).
- Perform standardized loudspeaker tests for R&D and production quality evaluation.
- Support manufacturing plants with validation testing, data review, statistical limit creation, and troubleshooting (remote and on-site).
- Create and document calibration and maintenance processes; implement and manage general lab upkeep.
- Program measurement sequences and simulations using tools such as EASE, EASE Speakerlab, SoundCheck, Audio Precision, LabVIEW, Prieview, Sonicue, C, and MATLAB.
- Maintain and update acoustic, electrical, and mechanical database with polar data, DSP settings, data sheet measurements, etc.
- Research, design and develop new measurement technologies and methodologies.
- Tune microphone and loudspeaker systems using DSP, and passive crossover design.
- Assemble system and sub-system prototypes.
- Evaluate loudspeaker and microphone performance and reliability; conduct failure mode and root cause analysis.
- Verify product compliance with design specifications, safety standards (CE/IEC 62368, EN54-24, UL 1482, CSA C22.1 etc.).
- Collaborate with project teams to maintain schedules and control product costs.
- Work with manufacturing to improve quality and costs; support sample production builds.
- Support products through their full life cycle; assist quality and service departments in resolving quality issues.
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Acoustics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics or a related field.
- Programming experience in C, MATLAB, LabView or similar languages.
- Experience using electrical measurement tools such as digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, and data acquisition systems.
- Knowledge of audio DSP tuning (e.g., limiters, compressors, IIR filter, FIR filters).
- Familiarity with networked audio systems.
- Mechanical skills: use of hand tools, drills, fasteners, adhesives, etc.
- Electrical skills: soldering, basic circuit analysis, standard audio cables, etc.
- Ability to travel nationally and internationally (maximum 20%).
- Ability to work with an international team from different cultures and in different time zones.
- Strong innovation skills and ability to contribute to an industry-leading R&D team.
- Passion for developing high-quality products.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration skills for interdisciplinary teams.
- Ability to manage priorities and support multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to interpret and analyze complex data sets.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar productivity tools.
Preferred
- Strong passion for music and audio technology.
- Experience with audio and acoustics testing systems (e.g., Listen SoundCheck, Audio Precision, EASERA, Klippel, SMAART).
- Experience with statistical analysis and quality control methods.
- Experience designing or developing audio DSP algorithms (e.g., limiters, compressors, IIR/FIR filters, adaptive filters, wavelet transforms).
- Knowledge of industry standards (CE, UL, IEC, EIA, AES).
- Familiarity with network audio standards (Dante, OMNEO, AES70).
- Experience designing, modeling, simulating and testing loudspeakers, microphones, and related components.
- Prototyping experience (woodworking, machining, 3D printing, CNC).
- Proficiency in 3D CAD such as Solidworks or OnShape.
- Familiarity with simulation tools (EASE, CLF, COMSOL, etc.).
- Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Professional audio production experience.

The salary range for this position is $79,000-$84,000 annually. Within the range, individual pay is determined based on several factors, including, but not limited to, work experience and job knowledge, complexity of the role, job location, etc.
