Job Description

Successful applicants will join the Altius MCAT Curriculum Development Team as part-time MCAT Curriculum Specialist. This position is ideally suited to current or former Altius Mentors who are interested in strengthening their CVs, med school applications, or their earnings via lucrative part-time consulting work.


Timeline & Commitment

Position begins immediately. Curriculum development will include both authoring of new content and providing edits/feedback on work submitted by your peers. This is a continuation of the project that completed our Group Session Slide Decks.


Candidates should be available to work this Fall. Preference may be given to mentors who can work 5-10 hrs/week and/or those who have an interest in working on the project for the long-term. As long as you meet program deadlines, you will enjoy significant flexibility as to when and how you work (e.g., working a little each day or focusing most your work over the weekends).


Additionally, we may consider mentors who are interested in work 30-40 hours/week over the Winter Break. Continued work Spring 2026 and beyond will be available to successful team members.


Minimum Requirements

  • Current or former Altius Mentors who scored a minimum 130 on any section of their MCAT
    • Hiring priority will be given to individuals that have scored a 132 in the respective MCAT section or have multiple section scores above 130.
  • Confidence with the "Becoming An MCAT Author" program activity or self-authoring MCAT-like test questions is a plus.
  • Exceptional ability to explain and clarify challenging science concepts. In the case of CARS proficient candidates, the ability to clarify and explain challenging prose, including logic, inference and tone not explicitly stated in the associated passage.
  • Talent for representing concepts graphically and/or visually, particularly explanatory scientific diagrams, illustrations, infographics, etc. NO GRAPHIC ART SKILLS REQUIRED. If you can make the concept clear, our in-house graphic artist can make it look beautiful.
