Materials Handler

The Material Handler is an integral part of the Production team, responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficient movement, storage, and tracking of materials in alignment with production schedules. This role supports production operations by ensuring materials are properly received, stored, and delivered to the appropriate locations, helping maintain continuous production flow with minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities

• Pick, kit, and deliver materials to the production floor
• Receive, inspect, and store materials; resolve discrepancies with Procurement
• Maintain accurate inventory, receiving, and traceability records
• Control material movement to ensure inventory accuracy and integrity
• Maintain production floor inventory levels and replenish Kanban bins (assembly, through‑hole, potting)
• Collaborate with Supply Chain to identify and mitigate material shortages
• Perform cycle counts and investigate inventory discrepancies
• Track part usage and scrap; correct errors as needed
• Assist with packing, labeling, and pallet preparation for shipment
• Optimize inventory storage through appropriate bin sizing

About You

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment, with knowledge of all areas of operations (including inventory, production, and distribution)
• Experience with ERP systems (Blackline is currently using NetSuite).
• Experience operating in a material handling role in a Lean Manufacturing environment is an asset.
• Repetitive lifting and carrying of up to 30lbs.
• Manual handling of incoming and outgoing product.
• Standing for extended periods in a production environment.
• Proficiency operating hand tools, pallet jacks and dollies.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Compliance with wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
