Manage end-to-end marketing project delivery and execution for trade missions, shows, and sector-specific activations across Australia, ensuring high standards and stakeholder engagement.
This role is based in Sydney.
Who we are
New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE) is New Zealand's international business development agency. We work with some of New Zealand’s most forward-thinking companies, helping them to grow internationally bigger, better, faster for the good of New Zealand. Our teams partner closely with sector specialists and commercial advisors to deliver practical, high impact initiatives that support exporters across global markets.
This role sits within our marketing function and reports to the Head of Marketing, Communications and Solutions. You’ll work in close partnership with sector teams and Commercial Business Advisory leads, supporting the marketing delivery of a diverse portfolio of initiatives in food, beverage, consumer goods, manufacturing, infrastructure, tech and services sectors across Australia.
What you’ll be doing:
This is a hands‑on marketing project and event delivery role with a strong focus on execution. You will manage and deliver a portfolio of trade missions, trade shows, events and sector‑led marketing activations, ensuring activities are well planned, well governed and delivered to a high standard.
You will be responsible for end‑to‑end project management activity across Australia, including sector level brand and communications initiatives where required. From scoping and planning through to delivery, wrap‑up and post‑activity evaluation, while proactively managing budgets, suppliers, risks and compliance requirements.
In this role you will:
o Project manage the end‑to‑end delivery of sector‑led marketing initiatives, from scoping, budgeting and planning through to execution, wrap‑up and post‑implementation review.
o Deliver trade shows, trade missions, industry events and sector activations, including logistics, budgets, run‑sheets and on‑the‑day execution.
o Manage procurement for marketing and event suppliers, including briefing, vendor selection, pitch processes, contract negotiation and supplier management.
o Partner closely with Commercial Business Advisory teams to support marketing activity aligned to sector priorities and commercial initiatives.
o Coordinate internal contributors and external suppliers to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget and to brief.
o Support website and digital content updates where required, working within existing platforms and processes.
o Track activity, maintain project documentation and provide clear wrap‑up reporting and learnings.
What you’ll need to be successful:
You’ll be a capable, adaptable marketing project manager who enjoys variety, ambiguity and getting things done in a collaborative team environment.
You’ll bring:
o At least 5 years’ experience delivering marketing projects end‑to‑end, including scope, timelines, budgets and stakeholder coordination.
o Strong hands‑on events delivery experience, particularly trade shows, industry events or sector activations.
o Experience working across integrated marketing outputs (events, digital, content, brand and communications) rather than a single specialist channel.
o Confidence working with multiple stakeholders, including sector teams, advisors, suppliers and agencies.
o A practical, delivery‑focused mindset; you’re a doer, not an overseer.
o Strong organisation and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects in flight.
o Experience supporting missions, ministerial or government delegations is preferred but not required.
What’s next:
This is an opportunity to contribute to a broad, sector‑led programme of marketing work that supports real commercial outcomes across Australia and the Pacific. For more information, please refer to the Position_Description.
