Key Responsibilities

  • Designs, codes, and deploys complex, multi-step marketing journeys and automated workflows (e.g., lead nurturing, lifecycle management) primarily within Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC Journey Builder) or any other Automation platform.
  • Develops and debugs advanced personalization and conditional content logic using proprietary coding languages (e.g., AMPscript and SSJS in SFMC) to reduce manual template variants and increase content relevance.
  • Designs and maintains complex SQL queries within the data warehouse/SFMC to ensure accurate, timely segmentation and robust data extensions for personalized campaigns.
  • Serves as the second escalation point for technical issues related to campaign execution, data synchronization, and automation failures.
  • Implements and enforces technical build standards for email templates, automation logic, and data handling to ensure compliance, deliverability, and cross-client rendering consistency.
  • Works closely with the CMS L4 to identify manual, recurring tasks and develops permanent automation solutions to improve overall workflow efficiency.
  • Manages email deliverability testing, monitors IP health, and ensures all automation processes adhere to CAN-SPAM, GDPR, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Consults with the CMS L4 and business partners on the technical feasibility and resource requirements of new automation programs.
  • Documents all custom code and automation logic, and provides technical guidance and enablement to Junior Analysts on operational support tasks.
  • Manages and configures core settings, tracking parameters, and business units within the primary Marketing Automation Platform (SFMC & others).

 

Must-have Skills 

  • 5 to 7 years of experience in Marketing automation platforms (used different ones: SFMC, AJO, Hubspot…) 
  • Expert-level in Journey Builder, Automation Studio, and Business Unit configuration (SFMC mostly)
  • High proficiency in AMPscript, and SQL.
  • Understanding of relational databases, Data Extensions, and API integrations.
  • Experience building complex, multi-step automations in Automation Studio - SFMC.
  • Technical knowledge of IP warming, SAP (Sender Authentication Package), and DNS records.

 

Nice-to-have:

  • AI Tooling Proficiency: Leverage one or more AI tools to optimize and augment day-to-day work, including drafting, analysis, research, or process automation. Provide recommendations on effective AI use and identify opportunities to streamline workflows. 
  • Proficiency in SSJS (Server-Side JavaScript).
  • Salesforce Marketing Cloud Developer Certification.
  • Knowledge of Python for advanced data manipulation.
