At Skyways, we are building the future of air transportation with our fully autonomous unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Our strategy blends rapid iteration with real-world deployment, and we are looking for a marketing leader who can help us establish distinct brand positioning and recognition ahead of our Series B fundraise.
The Opportunity
Skyways is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Marketing Manager to be a core driver of our brand identity and market visibility. This role is responsible for two critical functions: developing and managing consistent brand messaging and content, and overseeing all company events.
This role requires a dedicated presence in our Austin office and the willingness to travel regularly to support event and demonstration requirements.
The Marketing Manager will lead efforts across brand communications and event management.
Brand Messaging & Content Management (The Voice of Skyways)
Content Strategy & Execution: Working closely with our agency partners, oversee the creation, refinement, and distribution of all content including social posts, videos, case studies, and sales materials.
Brand Consistency: Ensure all internal and external communications align with the Skyways vision, values, and brand strategy so that our core message resonantes—is consistent, powerful, and credible.
Narrative Development: Develop key messaging tailored to our target audiences, including investors, potential customers, and industry influencers in the defense and commercial sectors.
Media Support: Assist with public relations efforts, including media relations and brand journalism, to secure media placements in aviation and defense outlets and increase the company's share of voice.
Internal & External Event Management (The Face of Skyways)
End-to-End Event Planning: Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of all internal and external events, including logistics, budget management, and on-site support.
Customer Demonstrations: Manage product marketing activities such as customer demonstrations and sales support, including coordinating Demo Days at the test site.
Trade Show & Conference Presence: Oversee the company’s presence at conferences and trade shows, ensuring strong representation and engagement with key industry players.
Special Events: Support specialized events, including Proof-of-Concept (PoC) activities and military/defense exercises, to showcase Skyways’ operational advantage.
Required Travel: Must be willing to travel regularly (up to 30%) to support events, customer locations, and flight test sites.
What You'll Bring:
5+ years of experience in marketing, with a focus on brand, content, and events, preferably within the aerospace, defense, or deep-tech industries.
Proven ability to translate complex technology into compelling and clear marketing narratives for diverse audiences.
Excellent execution skills with a keen eye for the details that matterExceptional organizational skills and experience managing large, multi-faceted projects and events (e.g., conferences, customer demos).
Experience with digital marketing platforms and content channels (e.g., LinkedIn, YouTube, X).
Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to align spokespersons to the brand image and voice.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment, be decisive, and forge productive cross-functional relationships.
