About the Team

Careem Grocery is on a mission to reinvent the way people shop for grocery, pharmacy and retail products. As an exciting new vertical within Careem (a startup within a startup), we’re in the early stages of building our product and have plenty of interesting and fundamental challenges to solve in order to achieve our ambitious growth goals in this burgeoning space.

What you’ll do

As a Marketing Manager, you’ll be responsible for developing and executing a yearly marketing plan to build awareness and acquisition for Quik in KSA. The role requires a high level of market understanding as well as a diverse skill set across multiple areas including planning, strategic and conceptual thinking, communication, and analytics. Our ideal candidate is someone who is passionate about customers, willing to be bold, as well as solution-oriented to work in the fast-paced environment that this team operates under. 

Demand Strategy and Planning (in close ownership with the Head of Marketing)

  • Build quarterly and monthly marketing plans derived from the demand and commercial strategy
  • Define the services positioning and yearly brand strategy 
  • Devise strategies for reaching new audiences and developing campaigns that resonate with them
  • Own and manage the budget, development and execution of marketing campaigns, across all marketing channels (online and offline)
  • Collaborate with the digital team to build strong plans with the aim of awareness and activation while managing performance and budget allocations
  • Develop a strategy on partnerships: merchant/FMCG marketing and ad monetization, and liaise with the right stakeholders on its execution 
  • Co-own the monthly demand funnel and work closely with the different function (growth and product) to enable demand growth levers 
  • Develop performance reviews to understand the return on investment of campaigns
  • Own the relationship with external resources such as agencies, suppliers etc. 

Product & Customer Experience

  • Work closely with product & product marketing team to optimize the customer funnel (discovery, conversion) and define a visual identity for properties within the mini app
  • Own a calendar of key features and product launches, and liaise with the right stakeholders to go-to-market

Building Marketing Excellence 

  • Develop governance and forums across the different key stakeholders for knowledge sharing and information flow (functions and markets)

What you’ll need

  • Educated to BS/MS level (or equivalent) within a subject relevant to the position such as Marketing 
  • 5/6 years experience of building marketing campaigns while managing/planning, timelines and budgets
  • Experience working within the technology industry/start-up environment/e-commerce (grocery) is desirable
  • Fluent in English and Arabic is mandatory
  • Ability to create strong marketing campaigns and content, and communicate a compelling vision
  • Strong relationship builder, with the ability to liaise with people on all levels
  • Ability to think about process and scale above all else to work efficiently and effectively with multiple tasks
