Our Commercial & Medical Affairs division is expanding quickly, and we’re looking for a Marketing Director, Global Markets to lead a commercially driven, creative marketing strategy across Europe and the US. This is a major leadership role with the chance to set global direction, build influence, and mentor a talented marketing team—all from our London office.
About the role
This role offers a unique combination of global reach and local impact. Based in London, you’ll shape the marketing strategy that positions Medscape across multiple regions and markets. You’ll have real leadership responsibility, setting strategy at the highest level while also staying connected to the work to ensure campaigns deliver meaningful results. Because of the high visibility of the role, you’ll collaborate directly with senior leaders across commercial, sales, and medical affairs, influencing business priorities and outcomes.
Innovation is central to this opportunity. You’ll be tasked with driving smarter, more modern marketing approaches, leading the adoption of MarTech and AI tools that streamline processes and clearly demonstrate ROI. Alongside this, you will play a key part in our industry presence, representing Medscape at global events and helping build long-term partnerships with leading pharma and healthcare organisations.
In this position, you’ll set the vision by defining and delivering the global marketing strategy for our Commercial & Medical Affairs business. You will drive growth by developing integrated B2B campaigns that reinforce Medscape’s position in the market and directly support revenue objectives. A core part of your day-to-day responsibilities will involve mentoring and developing a talented marketing team distributed across Europe and the US.
You’ll work closely with sales leadership to align marketing with commercial priorities, ensuring both teams are working toward shared goals and delivering stronger results together. You will also take ownership of Medscape Education’s presence at major international congresses and industry events, overseeing everything from early planning to on-site execution. And as the team continues to grow, you’ll look for opportunities to modernise tools and processes, integrating effective MarTech and AI solutions where they bring genuine value.
What you;ll need
You wil excel in this role if you’re a senior, commercially-minded marketer with deep experience in global pharma, healthcare, or medical education. Experience working with medical affairs teams is a strong plus. You should bring at least a decade of senior marketing leadership experience with a clear track record of driving measurable growth and delivering strategic impact. Experience operating at a high level within pharma marketing or medical communications agencies is important, as is the ability to communicate complex offerings in a clear, compelling way.
You’ll also need to be an experienced mentor and manager with a collaborative yet decisive leadership style. Strong commercial acumen, confidence in budget management, and a proven ability to work effectively with sales teams are key. Above all, you should bring curiosity, innovative thinking, and a proactive approach to solving problems and identifying new opportunities.
