What is the role about?
We are seeking a highly organised and creative Marketing & Sales Support Specialist to join our marketing team. This role is central to strengthening the VirtualResource brand by working closely with our Sales Team on the development & execution of account-based marketing (ABM) initiatives, coordinating targeted events and influencer activity, and producing high-quality, client-ready sales and marketing materials.
You will drive the creation of visually compelling, on-brand sales and marketing materials through advanced desktop publishing and PowerPoint design and execute Account-Based Marketing & Sales initiatives that strengthen engagement and pipeline growth.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, data-driven, comfortable collaborating across teams, and confident using modern AI tools to streamline workflows, personalise outreach, and improve campaign effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
Account‑Based Marketing (ABM)
Drive targeted ABM campaigns in partnership with Sales.
Create personalised outreach, content, and multi‑channel engagement.
Align marketing activity to sales pipeline priorities.
Track account engagement and campaign performance.
Sales & Marketing Collateral
Produce high‑impact, on‑brand sales materials (pitch decks, proposals, case studies, one‑pagers).
Apply advanced PowerPoint and visual storytelling skills to create polished client‑ready assets.
Maintain consistency across branding, layouts, and messaging.
Content & Campaign Support
Develop content for events, ABM programmes, and broader campaigns.
Turn complex information into clear, compelling messaging.
Ensure content reflects brand voice and market positioning.
AI & Marketing Tech
Use AI tools to improve content creation, campaign execution, and workflow automation.
Test and adopt new technologies to boost personalisation and efficiency.
Support optimisation of marketing systems and processes.
Collaboration & Operations
Work closely with Sales, Marketing, and Leadership on aligned initiatives.
Maintain organised project documentation, calendars, and campaign plans.
Assist with reporting, analysis, and continuous improvement.
Event Coordination
Manage end‑to‑end event logistics, communications, and follow‑ups.
Collaborate with stakeholders to define event goals and audiences.
Measure event performance and provide actionable insights.
As a VR team member, you will have the flexibility to manage your own day, as long as you meet your set objectives and goal demands. You’ll collaborate with a distributed team through IM, video calls, and an online ticketing system. Strong communication and excellent time‑management skills are essential for success in this environment.
What skills are we looking for?
Our roles are remotely based (even pre-Covid), meaning you will be working from your home office, connecting with your client and team on a daily basis.
To be successful in this type of environment, you will need to have the ability to communicate effectively (in English) with cross-functional teams, explain complex concepts in easy, understandable terms, align HR / business knowledge with Marketing, and proactively drive process improvements. You will need to be comfortable with video calls and be proactive in keeping communication channels open with your team.
Skills and Experience Required
4+ years’ experience in ABM, marketing, and event coordination.
Proven expertise in PowerPoint and desktop publishing.
Strong understanding of Account Based Marketing principles and sales‑aligned marketing strategies.
Excellent project management and organisational skills, with the ability to juggle multiple initiatives.
Outstanding written and verbal communication with strong attention to detail.
Proficiency in Canva plus experience with design tools (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign or similar).
Demonstrated ability to use AI tools to enhance productivity, content creation, and campaign performance.
Comfortable working in a fully remote, fast‑paced environment.
Qualifications and Beneficial Skills
Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Event Management or related field—or equivalent experience.
Experience in IT consulting, SaaS, or B2B professional services.
Familiarity with the Workday ecosystem or HR technology.
Experience delivering LinkedIn‑based ABM using Sales Navigator.
Knowledge of marketing automation and CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce).
Experience partnering with sales teams on pipeline and account growth.
Event logistics, performance tracking, and ROI reporting experience.
As this is a remote role, you can be based anywhere in South Africa so long as you are authorised to work without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
