What’s the role?

The Marine Contracts Manager will oversee and manage all contractual aspects of marine projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in contract negotiation, administration, and compliance within the marine or offshore industry. This role is critical in ensuring that all contractual obligations are met, risks are mitigated, and commercial interests are protected throughout the lifecycle of marine operations. Key responsibilities include:

Contract Management

  • Draft, review, and negotiate marine service contracts, charter party agreements, and subcontractor arrangements.
  • Provide contractual guidance to project teams during tendering, execution, and close-out phases.
  • Lead contract change management, claims resolution, and dispute avoidance strategies.
  • Monitor contract performance, obligations, and milestones to ensure timely execution and compliance.
  • Maintain contract templates and ensure consistent application of PXGEO’s contracting standards

Offshore Operations Support

  • Collaborate closely with offshore operations teams to align contractual terms with operational realities.
  • Support vessel mobilization and demobilization planning from a contractual and logistical standpoint.
  • Ensure compliance with international maritime regulations, flag state requirements, and port authorities.
  • Assist in managing contracts related to offshore crew, equipment rental, bunkering, and marine logistics.
  • Oversee contractual aspects of HSE requirements, emergency response protocols, and operational risk mitigation.
  • Participate in operational readiness reviews and post-project debriefs to capture lessons learned.
  • Coordinate with marine superintendents and project managers to resolve operational-contractual conflicts.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Liaise with legal counsel to ensure contracts align with regulatory and risk management standards.
  • Support procurement and commercial teams in supplier negotiations and framework agreements.
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients and partners on contractual matters during offshore campaigns

Who are we looking for?

  • Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in contract management within the marine, offshore, or shipping industry.
  • Strong knowledge of maritime law, international conventions, and commercial contract principles.
  • Experience with FIDIC, BIMCO, and other standard marine contract forms is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with offshore energy projects, shipbuilding, or marine logistics.
  • Legal qualification or certification in contract law is a plus
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
