Manufacturing Test Intern

The Manufacturing Test Intern supports our production floor where we assemble and manufacture all products for our customers worldwide. From assisting with our circuit board manufacturing all the way though to manufacturing and service, the Manufacturing Test Intern is focused on improvements and development of test equipment and works closely with other operational disciplines to drive improvements across multiple product lines and processes.

This is a 16-month internship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and improve existing product test methods, equipment, and documentation
  • Develop or coordinate development of electronic interface hardware and mechanical interfaces to test units, and software to support both
  • Support projects to improve existing manufacturing test infrastructure for yield and productivity improvements
  • Investigate and find root cause of product test failures and drive resolution to improve product yield, quality, and throughput
  • Interface with Product Development to ensure new products meet production test requirements and that production product test deliverables are met
  • Develop and debug software, applying skills to LabVIEW and Python developments
  • Design circuits and lay out PCBAs
  • Develop experience with RF test design, for cellular, GPS, and other bands
  • Develop experience with gas detection test development
  • Learn hands-on application of engineering principles and practical troubleshooting
  • Do hands on soldering, assembly, and debug of manufacturing test equipment
  • Gain data acquisition and analysis experience using databases

About You  

  • Currently enrolled in Electrical, Software, Digital, Manufacturing, or Computer Engineering
  • Highly motivated, independent, attentive to details, and have a hands-on approach to problem-solving
  • Prefer to work on multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to quickly changing priorities in a high-growth environment

Required Footwear

Safety Shoe Requirement: This position requires the use of CSA Grade 1 toe protection safety footwear. Applicants must have access to a pair of safety footwear that meets this requirement prior to starting employment.
