Manufacturing Software Engineering Intern

Primary Function of Position

We are seeking strong hands-on, energetic and high-capacity intern candidates for the Manufacturing Software Engineering team. Our team designs and develops the software and algorithms to support and automate product manufacturing to assure each product’s performance and safety. Our intern will report to Sr. Manager, Manufacturing Software Engineering and will have a wide range of opportunities including building software and tools for manufacturing equipment and data analysis, and working as part of a big project team/

Essential Job Duties

• Design, develop and test software systems that control machines to streamline manufacturing process

• Communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide project updates and deliverables

• Present the projects involved and lessons learned to the organization

Required Skills and Experience

• Current enrollment in a Computer Science, Mechatronics Engineering or related degree-seeking program at the Bachelor’s or Master’s level.

• Hands-on experience on at least one modern programming language (C#/Python preferred)

• Enthusiasm and passion for automation

• Hands-on, fast learner, willing to work on both software and hardware

• Team player, good oral and written communication skills

• Strong analytical, time management skills

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Familiar with OOP-OOD concepts, modern programming languages

• Familiarity with software frameworks, tools, data engineering

• Experience with hardware control, firmware, automation

• Can identify and debug software and hardware issues in complex software systems

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay (paid at an hourly rate), benefits, and a housing allowance. It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including relevant skills and experience for this internship, degree-seeking academic program (PhD, Master’s, Bachelor’s, etc), year in school, and location. The hourly rate is prorated against the intern program salaries listed and total program compensation will be based on internship duration.
