Summary/Objective: The Manufacturing Quality Manager will develop and implement quality management systems in a manner which fosters a culture of continuous improvement within the entire organization.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
- Implement robust quality systems in a highly complex manufacturing environment.
- Be accountable for the quality of Samtec's manufacturing and processes, ensuring customer satisfaction, at our Taiwan manufacturing site.
- Develop, manage and improve systems, reports and other tools in collaboration with key stakeholders required to ensure excellent quality levels.
- Support resolution of downstream quality issues by managing and coordinating activities across Manufacturing Quality, Supplier Quality, Customer Quality, and Engineering organizations – may include working collaboratively with other Samtec sites.
- Provide support and act as the voice of the customer for internal manufacturing regarding change management, discrepant material and product qualifications.
- Partner with Engineering and Operations leaders to form a cohesive team, ensuring adequate resource levels for a high quality, interrupt free manufacturing environment.
- Drive continuous improvement within operations through use of Six Sigma, lean manufacturing techniques, and consistent use of PFMEA and Production Control Plans.
- Customer Quality: Partner with Customer Quality Engineering (CQE) on identification of root cause of quality issues and execution of product quality improvements through preventive or corrective actions. Occasionally interface with customers for quality-related excursions, lead customer audits, and collect and summarize customer quality data to drive improvement.
- Direct Manufacturing Quality Engineering (MQE) in execution of investigations and improvement efforts.
- Supplier Quality: Partner with Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) to perform supplier qualifications, monitoring, investigations, and audits to minimize quality risk from incoming materials.
- Ensure Quality engineering support for R&D, marketing, and operations for the development, modification, and qualification of new products and existing released products.
- Ensure proper documentation of processes exists and is being followed.
- Work to sustain and improve quality management systems of ISO-9001, IATF 16949, and others.

Achieve high level of competence pertaining to Samtec corporate systems, data, and tools necessary to analyze and evaluated quality related issues.

Required Experience:
1. 5+ Years’ experience in Process Engineering, Quality Assurance Engineer, or Operations Management is required.
2. Quality tool knowledge, such as GR&R, FMEA, SPC, Six Sigma Techniques, Lean Techniques and problem solving.
3. Knowledge of ISO 9001 QMS Standard.
Preferred Experience:
1. Quality certifications are desirable (Certified Quality Manager, Certified Quality Engineer, Certified Quality Auditor or related)
2. Experience with RF product and/or SI testing.
3. Knowledge of other quality standards such as AS9100, ISO 13485, or IATF 16949 is preferred.
4. Electronic industry experience or knowledge of IPC is highly desired.
Education:
1. Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related discipline required.
