This role partners closely with engineering, operations, supply chain, quality, and leadership to deliver projects on time, within scope, and on budget, while driving continuous improvement in safety, quality, cost, and delivery. This is a full-time, on-site position at NSF Indian Head. Indian Head, MD is approximately 30 miles from Washington, DC, 25 miles from Alexandria, VA, and 60 miles from Fredericksburg, VA.  Job Description:
  • Lead end-to-end planning, execution, and closure of manufacturing projects (e.g., new product introductions, process improvements, equipment installations, capacity expansions) 
  • Develop and manage detailed project schedules in Microsoft Project, including milestones, dependencies, resource loading, and critical path 
  • Coordinate and lead cross-functional project teams (manufacturing, engineering, operations, supply chain, quality) across multiple production lines to deliver on scope, timing, and budget 
  • Identify, track, and mitigate project risks and issues, and manage changes to scope, schedule, and resources as needed 
  • Partner with supply chain and vendors to align materials, equipment, and services with project timelines and requirements 
  • Prepare and deliver concise project status updates, dashboards, and reports for stakeholders and senior leadership 
  • Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering technology, or equivalent job experience 
  • 10+ years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment (e.g., production, process engineering, or operations) 
  • 5 years of project management experience leading cross-functional projects in a manufacturing setting 
  • Advanced expertise in Microsoft Project, with the ability to develop, manage, and troubleshoot complex projects, including scheduling dependencies, resource delegation, critical path analysis, task sheets, and Gantt charts, is required 
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, workflows, and metrics 
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement sustainable solutions 
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence, align, and collaborate across multiple levels and functions 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to shifting priorities 
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) and Six Sigma certification is preferred 
  • Must currently hold or be able to obtain a Department of Defense Secret-level security clearance    
  • Must be a U.S. citizen as this position is not eligible for Limited Access Authorizations
