Manufacturing Lead: Quality and Metrology

TLDR

Own the quality assurance and metrology infrastructure to establish AS9100-ready quality management and full traceability for defense customers at Factory ONE.

SAEKI - Manufacturing at software speed

Europe's defense industrial base cannot respond at the speed modern conflict requires. Legacy suppliers operate on month-long timelines. Tribal knowledge is retiring. Supply chains are fragile. SAEKI is building the operating system for autonomous factories — the infrastructure that lets Europe manufacture mission-critical components at software speed.
You'll own the quality assurance and metrology infrastructure of Factory ONE — the measurement systems, inspection processes, and quality management framework that give our aerospace and defense customers absolute confidence in every part we ship.

The Role

As the Manufacturing Lead — Quality and Metrology, you are the owner of all quality systems, dimensional inspection, and measurement infrastructure at Factory ONE. Your mandate is to establish AS9100-ready quality management from day one, implement full traceability for defense customers, and build the metrology capabilities that ensure every part meets spec.
Based on-site at Factory ONE in Munich, you will own everything from incoming material inspection to final dimensional verification, establishing the processes and measurement infrastructure that support both CNC and additive manufacturing operations.

What We're Looking For

  • 7+ years of experience in quality engineering or metrology in aerospace, defense, or high-precision manufacturing environments.
  • AS9100 / ISO 9001 Expertise: Deep understanding of aerospace quality management systems. Experience leading or supporting AS9100 certification efforts. Familiarity with NADCAP requirements is a plus.
  • Metrology Mastery: Hands-on experience with CMMs (Zeiss, Hexagon, etc.), 3D scanning, surface roughness measurement, and other precision inspection equipment. You can program a CMM and interpret results.
  • GD&T Fluency: Expert-level understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
  • First Article and Process Qualification: Experience with FAIR (AS9102), PPAP, or equivalent qualification processes for regulated industries.
  • Export and Compliance Awareness: Understanding of export compliance requirements (ITAR/EAR awareness) relevant to defense manufacturing.
  • Software-Driven Mindset: You see metrology data as a feedback loop for process improvement, not just a gate. You are excited about integrating measurement data into our Factory OS for real-time quality control.
  • Location: Based in Munich (on-site at Factory ONE).
  • Language: Fluent in German and English.

What we're not looking for

  • Quality managers who only manage documents and audits.
  • People who view quality as a "policing" function. Your systems must accelerate output, not slow it down.
  • Metrologists with no interest in additive manufacturing. Our quality challenges span both CNC and AM — you must be curious about both.

What we offer

  • Mission: Rebuild the industrial sovereignty of the West. Your work directly enables the production of mission-critical hardware for defense and space.
  • Total Ownership: High-stakes autonomy in your domain. You own both the problems and the solutions — and have the authority to execute.
  • The Environment: Access to a 5,000m² state-of-the-art facility featuring 5-axis CNCs, industrial robots, and industrial 3D printers. Your work runs on real hardware from day one.
  • The Team: "Special Forces" model. Everyone senior, everyone ships. No politics, no bureaucracy. Direct feedback, high standards.
  • Compensation: Competitive salary + meaningful equity.
  • Location: Factory ONE in Munich

Apply

  • Resume: Focus on systems you've built and owned
  • Portfolio: Show us production code you're proud of
  • Cover letter: Why this mission? Why now? What would you build first?

SAEKI Robotics AG is developing an operating system designed for autonomous factories, enabling rapid and efficient manufacturing of essential components across Europe.
