Manufacturing Lead: Additive

TLDR

Own and lead the 3D printing operations to stabilize technology and quality assurance for mission-critical aerospace parts with a focus on integrating AI and sensor feedback.

SAEKI - Manufacturing at software speed

Europe's defense industrial base cannot respond at the speed modern conflict requires. Legacy suppliers operate on month-long timelines. Tribal knowledge is retiring. Supply chains are fragile. SAEKI is building the operating system for autonomous factories — the infrastructure that lets Europe manufacture mission-critical components at software speed.
You'll own the additive core of SAEKI: the technology that transforms digital models into massive, complex physical structures. You are the link between our Manufacturing Intelligence stack and the physical deposition process. Your expertise directly determines whether we can "print the unprintable" at the scale and precision required by the world's most demanding aerospace and defense primes

The Role

As the Manufacturing Lead — Additive, you are the owner of our 3D printing operations at Factory ONE (LPBF). Your mandate is to define the boundaries of our deposition technology, stabilize the processes for mission-critical parts, and lead the team that operates our fleet of industrial printers.
Based on-site at Factory ONE in Munich, you will own everything from process parameter development to production output and quality assurance for all additively manufactured components.

What We're Looking For

  • 7+ years of experience in industrial additive manufacturing (metal and polymer/composite). Proven track record of moving AM processes from R&D into series or near-series production.
  • Hands-on Process Mastery: Deep understanding of the physics of deposition — thermal management, residual stress, material behavior, and process parameter optimization. You've tuned machines yourself, not just reviewed data.
  • Material Science Depth: Strong knowledge of aerospace-grade materials and their behavior under additive processes. Understanding of post-processing requirements (heat treatment, machining allowances, surface finishing).
  • Quality and Regulatory Awareness: Familiarity with AS9100 or equivalent aerospace quality standards. Experience qualifying additive parts for highly regulated industries.
  • Team Leadership: Experience building and leading a team of AM engineers and technicians. You set the standard for precision and continuous output.
  • Software-Driven Mindset: You are energized by the integration of AI and sensor feedback into the printing process. You want to help build "first-time-right" manufacturing, not fight against it. Dyndrite expertise is not required but preferred.
  • Location: Based in Munich (on-site at Factory ONE).
  • Language: Fluent in German and English.

What we're not looking for

  • R&D scientists who prefer publishing papers over shipping parts.
  • People who only know one AM technology or one material. Our operations span multiple processes and materials.
  • Leaders who manage from behind a desk. You must be present on the factory floor, engaged with the hardware.
  • Engineers who view software integration as "someone else's problem." You will work directly with our software and automation teams.

What we offer

  • Mission: Rebuild the industrial sovereignty of the West. Your work directly enables the production of mission-critical hardware for defense and space.
  • Total Ownership: High-stakes autonomy in your domain. You own both the problems and the solutions — and have the authority to execute.
  • The Environment: Access to a 5,000m² state-of-the-art facility featuring 5-axis CNCs, industrial robots, and industrial 3D printers. Your work runs on real hardware from day one.
  • The Team: "Special Forces" model. Everyone senior, everyone ships. No politics, no bureaucracy. Direct feedback, high standards.
  • Compensation: Competitive salary + meaningful equity.
  • Location: Factory ONE in Munich

Apply

  • Resume: Focus on systems you've built and owned.
  • Portfolio: Show us work you're proud of — code, machines, or production systems.
  • Cover letter: Why this mission? Why now? What would you build first?

SAEKI Robotics AG is developing an operating system designed for autonomous factories, enabling rapid and efficient manufacturing of essential components across Europe. By focusing on seamless infrastructure integration, we empower manufacturers to operate at software speed, transforming traditional production methods.
