Kepler is looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Intern to aid in the development of manufacturing processes, procedures and implement industry best practices to design and manufacture and assemble space products, payloads, and satellites.
This position requires collaboration with various engineering teams, participating in the hardware development phase, supporting new product development and new product introduction. The successful student will have a diverse background of co-ops with experience establishing manufacturing, assembly, and integration documentation, with exposure to PCAs, RF, Optical or Mechanical assemblies.
Position Responsibilities:
Act as Interface for engineering, production, and quality on hardware producibility and testing.
Participate in the engineering design reviews and provide design feedback and solutions to the design team.
Use tools such as process flow diagrams and value stream mapping to visualize and document processes.
Analyze production flows, create production layouts and develop assembly & integration methods, tools, fixtures and cell configuration.
Aid in the development of manufacturing and test flows, manufacturing and test work instructions, and traceability records.
Design or oversee the design of custom tooling or fixtures to help improve the manufacturing process.
Operate and maintain the 3D printer to create prototypes, fixtures, and other components that support production and process improvements.
Support the deployment of Kepler's Manufacturing Execution System (MES), integrating production processes, quality controls, and data-collection tools to support scalable, high-reliability manufacturing operations
Position Requirements:
Working towards a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Science or equivalent.
Minimum 2+ co-op experiences in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Familiar with material handling, kitting, assembly, inspection, and routing processes.
Experience using CAD software reviewing drawings, models and designing parts, fixtures and tooling. Experience with OnShape is an asset.
Understanding of DFM, DFA, FMEA, PFMEA processes.
Experienced in supporting product failure investigations, material review boards and corrective action implementation.
Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program and returning to studies after the internship
Available for a full-time 4 month internship beginning January 2026
Able to work on-site at Kepler’s Toronto office (24 Ward Street).
Bonus Points:
Familiar working in Clean Room Environments
Familiar with FOD and ESD requirements
CAD Software Experience (OnShape, Solidworks, AutoCad, or similar)
PLM System knowledge (Duro or similar)
Exposure to Industrial Engineering
Experience with RF hardware or RF test equipment
