TAT Technologies is looking for a qualified profession Manufacturing Engineer with 10 or more years experience. The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for leading and deploying best practices in the manufacturing organization by taking initiative to support continual improvement in various manufacturing processes by reducing tooling costs, improving flow of material, and establishing cycle times. They work towards achieving the manufacturing goals and objectives of the organization. They facilitate, execute, and manage projects to reduce the costs significantly by implementing Lean, WCP, and Six Sigma tools and methodologies.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Evaluate Component Maintenance Manual (CMMs) and develop standard processes and procedures thru documents and travelers to ensure Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) capabilities for all products in assigned areas.

• Support all technical problem solving and troubleshooting for assigned areas.

• Develop and leads training for employees as required.

• Develop manufacturing methods and processes required on new or improved requirements and/or processes. Compile and evaluate test and production data; prepare technical analysis. Define small-to-large, simple-to-complex detail part fabrication, assembly, and installation tooling.

• Drive 100% OTD & 100& FPY for all products in production in coordination with purchasing, crew chief, quality, and acct management.

• Analyze statistical data including process capability studies, tests capability studies, and through-put rates. Utilize knowledge of processing of metallic and composite parts including machining / surface prep, NDT, Flame Spray, Welding, etc.

• Evaluate, review, and apply specifications and other technical documents, e.g., design philosophy, purchasing specification, working specification, drawings, BOM, CMM, check lists, manufacturing data, standard part calculations and component description.

• Review CMMs, Engineering drawings and technical data for assigned areas, ensuring parts, assemblies, and/ or installations can be manufactured. Experience with reading and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) requirements required.

• Perform Root Cause Analysis on Non-conformances generated by tooling and identify workarounds for tooling deficiencies.

Requirements

• Ideal applicants will hold a degree in Manufacturing Engineering or another relevant field of engineering plus at least 10 years of experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be accepted.

• Proven ability to: trouble-shoot defects, process errors, and time consumption/ learning curve issues to improve shop floor performance.

• Verifiable experience with fabrication and assemblies

• Familiarity with a diverse range of materials (i.e., aluminum alloys, stainless steel alloys, engineering polymers, composites, etc.), and related coating processes necessary.

• Read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

• FAA Airframe and/or Power Plant license or equivalent certification is preferred.

• Read and understand Commercial, FAA, EASA, Repair Station, and ISO documentations.

• Must be proficient in navigating CMMs and understanding the differences between CoC/FAA 8130 requirements.

• Read and understand all contract terms, conditions, clauses, and stipulations and monitor them for compliance by both Piedmont and the US Government.

• Good organizational skills.

• Assist in the development of draft contracts to be presented to upper management.

• Perform market research to assist with pricing models.

• Maintain the highest level of integrity, professionalism, and confidence of sensitive information with customers, vendors, visitors, and business associates.

• Maintain compliance with AS9110, FAA, EASA, EH&S & ITAR standards always.
