We are seeking a passionate placement student to join our growing team at Octopus Energy’s heat pump factory in Portadown, Northern Ireland.
As a Manufacturing placement student, you will play a crucial role with the use of manufacturing principles and practices to improve manufacturing equipment and processes.
What you will do:
Hands on support to design and implement material presentation
Study and refine manufacturing processes
Design and build manufacturing aids/jigs
Design and implementation of engineering systems and infrastructure
Collaborate with cross functional teams, supporting problem solving investigations and the introduction of new products and processes
Drive a continuous improvement ethic
Process validation studies
What you will need:
Currently enrolled on a university degree in a mechanical or manufacturing engineering and requiring a 12-month placement.
Ability to be on-site every day at our Portadown heat pump factory (37.5Hrs)
Good communication skills
Clear and concise writing skills
In depth knowledge of working with hand/power tools
