Shift:                    Monday to Friday 6:00 am - 3:00 pm 


Job Summary:      

An HDR Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineer works to support, design, and develop tools and manufacturing processes used in the production of Samtec’s HDR product line. 


Functions:

  1. Work individually and/or with a team to scope, concept, design, and implement mechanical solutions to specific needs defined by internal customers.
  2. Turn concepts into SolidWorks models that accurately show the designed mechanical intent of tools and assemblies.
  3. Understand fabrication methods of designed solutions.
  4. Monitor and control project costs and ensure solutions are within acceptable budget constraints.
  5. Create test plans that have clearly defined and communicated measurables for success.
  6. Use statistical analysis to communicate the effectiveness of tools and processes to internal stakeholders.
  7. Support manufacturing quality through tool design and process updates.
  8. Support existing tools and machines by setting PM schedules and ensuring necessary spare parts are stocked.
  9. Manage and update internal systems to communicate to technical teams the correct tooling to set up for specific orders.
  10. Set up and manage projects using project tracking software.
  11. Manage task and project timelines to hit required due dates.  
  12. Communicate project progress and objectives to global team members and management.
  13. Ensure that designs that are safe to operate and compliant with OSHA, ANSI, and Samtec safety standards.

Preferred Education:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Manufacturing Engineering.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working in:
  • Project/Task Management
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external groups.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Competent in SolidWorks, MS Office Suite and basic computer skills.
  • Experience working as a reliable member of a cross functional team.
  • Detail oriented and possesses a self-driven personality.
