Position Overview
The Manufacturing Engineer will be primarily responsible for troubleshooting and continuous support of process improvement for the identified areas of the Leland, NC Facility.  In addition, this role will also coordinate projects including production line design/startup and working closely with product engineering from concept through production implementation. 
Responsibilities:
  • Investigation and Implementation for proper use of all cuttings tools in jobs pertaining to manufacturing
  • Design test and inspection equipment to verify critical product characteristics
  • Provide process recommendations as they pertain to Manufacturing Floor and necessary equipment including CNC Machines
  • Process optimization in machinery and assembly operations.
  • Investigation and implementation of new processing and technology.
  • Fixture design and implementation.
  • Gauge design and implementation.
  • Training of salary and hourly personnel when required.
  • Preparing specifications for process and manufacturing equipment.
  • Write and update routing and workstation procedures. 
  • Work with product development engineers to improve product and processes.
  • Trouble-shoot machining or assembly problems. 
  • Participate in utilizing the Quality Improvement Process in the performance of his/her job.
Qualifications (education, experience, skills, personal attributes)
  • Engineering Degree preferably in Mechanical or Industrial Discipline
  • 3-10 years’ experience in manufacturing setting with machining and assembly of small parts.
  • Experience with CNC Machining, AutoCAD and Solid works as well as 2D Modeling
  • Experience in fixture, tooling, and gauge design.
  • Strong team player with ability to influence others while also maintaining a strong sense of urgency working to minimize production downtime.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization effectively.
Work Environment
This is a manufacturing floor-based role requiring frequent walking, standing, lifting, and hands-on interaction with equipment. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams is essential.
