Who are we looking for?

Exciting opportunity for an impactful role, one in which you will enjoy considerable autonomy and variety.  As the Manufacturing Engineer, you lead continuous improvement projects related to composite production with respect to safety, quality, cost, manufacturability, deliver, and customer value.  As a technical liaison between departments such as Project Planning, Project Engineers, Quality, etc. (occasions with suppliers and customers) in their daily work to help resolve operation issues.  The role also helps to integrate new products into serial production, with focus on controlling cost and ensuring high product quality.

  • Own hardware from concept generation to real world use
  • Use first principles physics as a basis when needed
  • Use prior examples, previous experience as a basis when appropriate
  • Lead design reviews, run analysis, visit vendors, define and execute hardware test plans
  • Build prototypes, analyze failures, and transition successful projects into production
  • Identify sources of waste and implement strategies to minimize defects
  • Support critical hardware demonstrations with customers as needed
  • Travel to installation sites as needed

What you will bring to the Team

  • Bachelor's in Engineering or equivalent work experience
  • Experience and passion for composite manufacturing processes
  • 3-5 years of Engineering experience
  • Expert user of SolidWorks, PDM, and Microsoft Office
  • Competence in reading and interpreting engineering diagrams and blueprints  
  • Ability to build relationships with operators and team members
  • Self-motivated with strong personal workload management
  • Ability to read, interpret, and create technical drawings and schematics with proper application of dimensions and tolerance (GD&T)
  • Knowledge and application of continuous improvement philosophy, methodology, and tools.
