Who You’ll Work With

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer who is passionate about building reliable and scalable manufacturing test scripts and automation tools. This on-site role, based in our Zapopan, Guadalajara, México office, reports to our Mexico Manufacturing Manager.

You will play a critical role in supporting our Mexico’s manufacturing operations and extend your expertise to our contract Manufacturers in Mexico. This position requires cross-functional collaboration with teams across time zones, including QA, NPIE, CM Partners, and other operations teams.

What You'll Do

  • Manage and drive quality metrics and improvement activities (yields, bone pile, scrap rates, component fallout).
  • Line stops / purges / quality issues leadership.

  • NPI management

  • Actively debug product failures.

  • Assess manufacturing personnel technical capability.

  • Ensure that production site receives the required level of product training.

  • Provide hardware debug mentorship to contract manufacturing test engineers and debug technicians.

  • Improve manufacturing operations test processes and actively enhance efficiency, consistency, cost avoidance, and customer satisfaction.

  • Address Return Rate (RMA) and customer complaints.

  • DRT participation and leadership. Actively work with the Defect Reduction Team to identify product issues and drive resolutions.

  • Manage and drive test yield improvements.

  • Establish technical direction through the investigation and evaluation of new test technologies.

  • Interface/engage with Engineering, Platform Engineering, Manufacturing and CM partners.

  • Understand implementation of Change Orders (Agile)

  • Identify and drive process improvement, cycle times reduction and lean activities

  • Develop process and/or best practice documentation.

  • Work in conformance to established manufacturing test processes and procedures.

  • 10+ years of experience in contract manufacturing environment, preferably in a high mix, low volume PCBA environment as well as box build.

  • BS or MS degree required.

  • Strong leadership capability, with experience in managing, recruiting, developing and coaching employees.

  • Proven record of accomplishment driving business efficiency and improvements.

  • Ability to read and interpret hardware specifications, schematics, and data sheets.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in both English and Spanish.

  • Must be results-oriented and possess sound business judgement.

  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills combined with an ability to research information.

  • Ability and experience in Test Capacity management and cycle time improvements.

  • Solid working knowledge of DFx (DFM, DFA, DFT)

  • Demonstrated ability to establish technical direction through the investigation and evaluation of new test technologies.

  • Expertise in networking products related to routing, switching and data center.

  • Excellent computer skills with emphasis on excel and project reporting.

  • Excellent working knowledge of complex system level debugging and root cause analysis.

  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing, test, quality and reliability best practices.

  • Experience in HLA / System-level testing in a manufacturing context.

  • Experience working with EMS / CM partners and global fulfillment centers.

  • Knowledge of data visualization techniques and dashboard tools for monitoring test data.

  • Experience with automation in fixtures for integration stages.

  • Experience in production process metric implementation, yield management and product quality.

  • Knowledge in ECO, BOM and Deviation processes, (Agile or propel experience a plus).

  • Factory readiness for New Product launches
