Manufacturing Data Engineering Intern [Summer 2026]

Figure is an AI Robotics company developing a general-purpose humanoid. Our humanoid is designed for commercial environments to help address labor shortages and perform tasks that are physically demanding, repetitive, or unsafe. We are based in Sunnyvale, CA and require 5 days/week in-office collaboration.

We are looking for a Manufacturing Data Engineering Intern to support the development of data tools and infrastructure that help scale robot production. This internship is designed for students in their final year of an undergraduate or master’s program, as well as recent graduates who are on track to complete their degree by the end of 2026 (or the following year).

Responsibilities:

  • Work with Manufacturing Engineers, Production teams, and leadership to understand operational data needs
  • Build dashboards to monitor manufacturing performance and production metrics
  • Develop data tools and pipelines to validate and monitor manufacturing data on the production floor
  • Gather stakeholder requirements and translate them into useful data products
  • Analyze production and manufacturing data to identify trends and process improvements
  • Present dashboards, insights, and tools to engineering teams and leadership

Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Data Analytics, Mathematics, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, or a related field
  • Proficient in Python and strong knowledge of SQL
  • Comfortable working closely with production teams on the manufacturing floor
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally
  • Internship duration of 12+ weeks (4+ months preferred)

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Experience with Grafana, PowerBI, or similar data visualization tools
  • Exposure to schema design or data modeling concepts
  • Experience working with manufacturing or operational datasets

The US hourly pay range for this position is $35–$50 per hour. The pay offered for this position may vary based on several individual factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package may also include additional components/benefits depending on the specific role. This information will be shared if an employment offer is extended.
