JOB OVERVIEW

The Sourcing Operations Manager will be responsible for supporting commercial procurement strategies, managing inventory, and supporting the business units at ForeFront Power with sourcing expertise needed to support internal energy project execution, external advisory sourcing engagements, and new solution services. This role will provide direct and indirect sourcing and inventory management expertise and help the organization build a new sourcing function to support sizable growth.


JOB LOCATION AND REPORTING TO

This position will be based in either our San Francisco or New York City office, or for the right candidate as a remote position with occasional travel to the San Francisco office and warehousing facilities.  The Sourcing Operations Manager reports to the Chief Technical Officer and works closely with our Commercial, Finance, Legal, Development, Execution, Engineering, and Advisory teams.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and own a comprehensive sourcing strategy to support the growth of ForeFront Power
  • Work with the Executive team to standardize vendor/supplier solicitation, qualification, selection, development, and overall management processes
  • Work with legal to design and update form-standard contracting documents for vendor services agreements
  • Collaborate with Execution, Development, and Engineering teams to analyze procurement options and assist in making equipment supply recommendations
  • Maintain key equipment supplier and warehousing relationships and assist in securing and tracking key materials/supplies as needed
  • Manage inventory control, including physical warehouse inventory auditing and record reconciliation
  • Assist in the development of RFPs and oversee their execution as needed to support the various business units at ForeFront Power
  • Embrace a culture of continuous improvement and provide ongoing assessment and recommendations for cost reduction across both direct and indirect project spend categories
  • Measure project spend and track, and report against industry benchmarks where possible
  • Support the company’s commitment to diversity through active MWBE vendor tracking and performance reporting with ongoing recommendations on how to improve results
  • Additional job duties as assigned by the Chief Technical Officer in support of sourcing initiatives


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree, ideally in business with a concentration in supply chain management or procurement
  • 3-5 years of strategic sourcing experience (both direct and indirect)
  • Highly desire candidates with category experience in Renewables, Energy, and Facilities Services sourcing
  • Strong organizational, project management, and communications skills (both written and verbal)
  • Strong quantitative and cost analysis skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 tools


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position is primarily deskbound and subsequently requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk in front of a computer.  On occasion, the Sourcing Operations Manager position may require travel up to 15% of the time to accommodate vendor engagement, Inventory and warehouse management and sourcing activities.
